Two world championships

Memory competition questions
When is the World Memory Championship 2026?
There are two on the calendar. WMSC holds its world championship in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on 11–13 Dec 2026; IAM holds its world championship in Kuta, Bali, Indonesia, on 17–19 Dec 2026.
How do I enter a memory competition?
Open the event's official page from the list above: it has the schedule, the registration form and the entry rules. Entry differs by organiser and country, so check it there before you book travel. Train in the competition formats first: all ten events are free to practise here.
Do I need to qualify first?
It depends on the organiser and your country. Some events are open to anyone who registers, while others choose competitors through a national federation or run separate age categories. The organiser's page is the only reliable source for its own rules.
What are the WMSC and the IAM?
The World Memory Sports Council (WMSC) and the International Association of Memory (IAM) are two organisations that each run their own world championship. MemoChamp is not affiliated with either, and lists every event under its organiser's own name.
How should I prepare for a memory competition?
Practise each event in its competition format, then run a mock championship to total all ten events in championship points. The points calculator shows what any score is worth and how far you are from the Millennium Standard.
