Privacy Policy

What MemoChamp collects when you train and sign in, what is public, who processes it, and how to access or delete your data.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This policy explains what MemoChamp collects, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. You can use most of the site without an account; signing in adds the things below.

Email list

If you type your address into one of our “Get new memory guides by email” boxes, we store that address, the page you signed up on and the time. We use it only to send you MemoChamp guides and training tips. Signing up for the list does not create an account, and having an account does not add you to the list. To be removed, or to have your address deleted, email the address under Contact and we'll do it. We use an email service provider (Brevo) to send the newsletter on our behalf, and it keeps your address on its list until you unsubscribe. Every message includes an unsubscribe link.

Emails to account holders

If you have an account with a confirmed email address, we may email you occasionally about your training: important changes to drills or scoring, reminders and tips. We keep this separate from the newsletter, which only people who sign up for it receive. To send these we copy your email address to Brevo, our email service provider, and remove it again if you turn the emails off. You can turn them off at any time in Settings, and every message includes an unsubscribe link. Emails about your account itself, such as sign-in links, are always sent.

What we collect

When you create an account

  • Your email address, used to sign you in and to send the sign-in link emails.
  • If you continue with Google, Google shares your email address and, if you have them, your name and profile picture. We don't receive your Google password and don't access your Gmail, contacts, Drive or anything else in your Google account.

What you add to your profile and training

  • A username (it starts as the part of your email before the @, so change it in Settings if you don't want that shown), plus optional details such as full name, bio, country, city, club, main discipline, experience level, goal, website, social handles, avatar and cover image.
  • Your training: drill and match results, scores and timings, what was shown and what you answered, personal notes on attempts, goals, saved presets, memory palaces, custom Major/PAO systems, plan enrollment and progress.
  • Memory test results, when you take a memory test signed in: which test, your score and when, so you can see them on your dashboard. Only you can see them. Nothing you type in a test is sent. A test taken signed out is kept in your browser for a day, so that signing in afterwards can save it.
  • Social activity where those features are on: who you follow, rivals, comments and notifications.

Payments

If you buy Pro, payment is handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details and billing information under its own privacy policy; we never see your card number. We keep only your subscription status and identifiers needed to match it to your account.

Automatically, when you visit

  • Standard request data (IP address, browser and device type, pages requested) processed by our host to serve the site and keep it secure.
  • Privacy-friendly page-view statistics from Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites.
  • A count of finished memory tests: finishing one adds one to that day's total for that test, and one to the number of results on its score, which is how a result shows the share of scores it beat. Nothing about you is stored with either.
  • Error reports from Sentry when something breaks, so we can fix it. We don't record session replays.

If you turn on notifications

  • A push subscription for each device you turn them on for: an address at your browser's notification service, two keys that encrypt what we send, and the name your browser gives itself. We use it only to send you the notifications you chose in Settings (a challenge, an opponent, a follower or comment, a streak reminder) and to let you send yourself a test. You can turn them off per device at any time, and signing out turns them off on that device.

What is public

MemoChamp is a competitive site, so some of what you do is visible to everyone, signed in or not: your username, profile details and avatar, your personal bests and leaderboard standings, your match results and ratings, the badges you earn, and your comments. Leave optional profile fields blank if you don't want them shown. Your email address is not shown publicly.

Your training history is private: the list of drills you have run, when you ran them, how often you train, your answers and your session notes are visible only to you. A result is seen by others only when you share its link, and then just that one result.

How we use it

  • To run the site: sign you in, save your training, and show leaderboards, matches and profiles.
  • To provide Pro features and manage your subscription.
  • To send the account emails above. We don't send marketing email.
  • To keep the site secure and working, and to understand which pages are used.

We don't sell your personal information and we don't show third-party ads.

Who else handles your data

These providers process data on our behalf, only to run the service:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
  • Vercel — hosting and page-view analytics.
  • Sentry — error reporting.
  • Paddle — payments and tax, when you buy Pro.
  • Your browser's notification service (Google for Chrome, Edge and Android, Mozilla for Firefox, Apple for Safari) — only if you turn on notifications. Messages are encrypted so that only your device can read them; the service sees that a message was sent, to which device and when.
  • Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google”.

These services may process data in countries other than your own. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

We use a cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser's local storage remembers preferences such as theme and drill settings on your device. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Reports and blocks

When you report a comment or a profile, we keep who reported it, what you chose and wrote, and a copy of what was reported as it was at the time, so it can still be judged if it is later changed or deleted. Only our admins can see reports. A report is kept until we have handled it and for as long as we need it to deal with repeated abuse; deleting your account removes the reports about you, and reports you filed stay without your name.

Your list of blocked athletes is private to you: the person you blocked can't see it. Deleting either account removes it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and training history until you delete your account (see how to delete it). Payment and tax records held by Paddle are kept as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

  • Edit or remove your profile details, avatar and username any time in Settings.
  • Delete your account yourself in Settings, on the website or in the app. It removes your profile and training history straight away, and this page lists exactly what is removed and what is kept. If you can't sign in, email us at the address below and we'll do it.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, by emailing the address below.
  • Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have further rights, including to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

MemoChamp isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll give notice on the site.
